This represented a significant multimillion pound investment by Hargreaves to allow plans to move forward for the development of a new town providing up to 3000 new homes along with associated amenities (subject to planning).
The extensive works have been progressing on schedule and the transformation has been clearly visible on site. The former open cast mine has gradually been regenerated into a clean, brownfield site ready for development.
We believe that the landscape strategy at Blindwells will be a critical component to its long term success and popularity.
In 2017, we successfully secured planning consent for 1,600 new homes at Blindwells, including 480 affordable homes. Our proposals include education facilities, a healthcare hub, local retail outlets and many other services needed to establish a thriving new community.
The masterplan for the development provides an integrated and creative solution for an area which has already been identified for new homes, in the East Lothian Local Plan.
